We are so happy and proud to share that in collaboration with Merck Healthcare and Corvinus University of Budapest, we organize a professional event titled Between Influence and Empowerment: Women’s Hour at Corvinus University on 2nd October.

During this event, Marieta Jiménez, Senior Vice President Europe at Merck Healthcare will present about gender equality and female leadership.

After the presentation, successful female leaders will talk about obstacles at work for women talent and how they have overcome them in their career, what they are suggesting to the audience.

International Board Executive, VP Marketing & Innovation

Ágnes is a corporate executive with extensive international multinational corporation experience. Over the past 30 years, she has worked in international roles as Board Executive, CEO, Strategic Business Developer, Marketing, and Sales Director at companies such as Mondelez International, Johnson & Johnson, Mars and Eckes-Granini. She is committed to the development of women leaders.

CE Chief Operating Officer at Tesco

In March 2023, Banu was appointed to her current role of Chief Operating Officer, Central Europe. She is responsible for Operation & Distribution Centers &Supply Chain& Business Transformation in CE. Banu has been working for Tesco for more than 20 years, out of which, she has 18 years of operations experience. She joined Tesco as a new graduate as Store Manager Assistant in Turkey in 2002, worked in various operations roles before she moved to Hungary. In 2018 ,she appointed as CE Business Support & Online Director . In 2020 she joined the Commercial team as a part of her development plan ,after successfully developing the product strategy and transformation plan, she was appointed as CE Commercial Director in March 2021.She is a single mum to her 16 years old Daughter. Professor at Corvinus University of Budapest, active researcher in gender equality and Equalizer Foundation board member

Beáta Nagy, a professor at the Institute of Social and Political Sciences in Corvinus University in Budapest, focuses her research on gender inequalities in organizations and management, equal opportunities policies, and work-life balance. Recently, she and her colleague with the Equaliser Foundation conducted comparative research on executive search in the Visegrad countries.

Global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Products Manager @ Deutsche Telekom Group

After ten years of academic career she joined the NGO and later the corporate sector as a sustainability and equity expert. She led the delivery of Magyar Telekom’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy for five years. As a result of her operations Hungary’s leading Telco reached gender equity in its senior leadership, gender pay gap has been reduced, the number of returning caregivers doubled, and she developed the first Hungarian language open source unconscious bias training material, which was made available for all local entities.

Next to her strategic delivery role she has been the product owner of a crossfunctional team leading customer facing units towards the achievement of 100% accessible customer experience. She joined Deutsche Telekom Group in November 2022, working on the Global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy of the company group. She firmly believes, that proficient data science, agile way of work and digitally mature, business focused HR operations are key to open and inclusive workplace design in all industries.

Social scientist, member of Egyenlítő Alapítvány, member of curatory board of Employer’s Equal Opportunity Forum. Her professional achievements and her work for the equity of underserved social groups has been awarded by several Hungarian and international bodies.

Senior Vice President Europe at Merck Healthcare

Since January 2020, as Senior Vice President Europe at Merck Healthcare, Marieta Jiménez is at the head of the 32 markets that make up a region with more than 27,000 employees. Her time as the General Director of Merck in Sweden and later at Merck in Spain led her to focus on boosting innovative projects related to diversity, equity and inclusion, which also placed Merck in a leadership position aligned with the SDGs UN 2030 Agenda.

This commitment led her to foster ClosinGap in 2018. This association formed by twelve top companies from different sectors aims to eliminate the gender gaps that impact the economy of Spain and is now an undisputed reference. Marieta is recognized in women’s transformative leadership and participates in multilateral events and tier 1 media. She is included in the “Top 100 Mujeres Líderes” ranking in Spain and has been rewarded for her leadership role by the Universidad de Salamanca (USAL) and the X Castile and Leon Best Manager Awards, among others.

She is also an independent advisor to MAPFRE (one of the major insurance companies in Spain), a member of EFPIA’s (European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations) Patient Advisory Committee and a member of the Alumni Advisory Board of the University of Salamanca.
