SCIENTIFIC ADVISOR AND THE HEAD OF THE SOCIAL AND CULTURAL PSYCHOLOGY RESEARCH GROUP

Prof. Dr. Márta Fülöp is a scientific advisor and the head of the Social and Cultural Psychology Research Group at the Research Institute for Cognitive Neuroscience and Psychology. She is a professor at the Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church,  a member of the Doctoral School of Psychology at Eötvös Loránd University. Winner of several prestigious international research fellowships (e.g. Center for Advanced Study inthe  Behavioral Sciences, Stanford, USA; Japan Foundation). She was a visiting professor at several international universities (e.g. Kansai University, Osaka, Japan; University of International Economics and Business, Beijing, China; Higher School of Economics, Moscow, Russia). Secretary General of the International Association of Cross-Cultural Psychology, President-elect of the Children’s Identity and Citizenship: European Association, International Secretary of the Hungarian Psychological Association, Editor-in-Chief of the Hungarian Journal of Psychology, awardee of the Pál Ranschburg Plaque of the Hungarian Psychologic al Association for her outstanding teaching and research. Her main area of research is the psychology of competition, including cultural and gender differences in competition, the relationship between competition and mental health, talent competition, the psychology of winning and losing, the process of constructive and destructive competition, and cooperative competition.
